Anti-Spam

AVG Anti-Spam does not detect some Spam e-mails

If there are some spam e-mails which are not detected by AVG Anti-Spam please add the sender's e-mail address (or whole domain) to the Blacklist. To add addresses or domains to the Blacklist:

  2. On the Tools menu, click Advanced settings.
  3. On the left pane, expand Anti-Spam.

  5. Enter the e-mail address (or domain) you want to be blocked - e.g. This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or just domain.com.
  6. Click OK.

If an e-mail has been incorrectly marked as spam, you can add the sender's e-mail address to the Whitelist in the same way

You can also train the Anti-Spam component to recognize similar spam e-mails the next time they come. Please do the following to train the Anti-Spam component:

  1. Open the AVG program.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Advanced settings.
  3. On the left pane, expand Anti-Spam.
  4. Select the Settings option, and then click Train Anti-Spam.

    • Folder with EML files
    • MS Office Outlook
    • Windows Mail (Outlook Express)
    • The BAT!
    • Mozilla Thunderbird
  6. Choose the program and exact path/folder where spam or correct e-mails are stored.
  7. Choose the filtering options of the selected folder and whether you want to train for SPAM or HAM (wanted e-mails).
  8. Click OK to save the configuration.
