- A new variant of a known threat which previously caused a significant outbreak was detected in the wild.

Elevated risk
- New malware has been detected that may lead to an increased attack rate or load on networks, but it is not yet widespread.
- A new proof of concept code for a vulnerability is detected that may lead to a serious outbreak due to the critical nature of the vulnerability.

Extreme risk
- New malware is spreading very fast, posing a potential danger to the majority of systems and could lead to flooded networks and servers.
- A very high number of infections has been monitored within the last 24 hours.
