AVG Technologies Appoints Clent Richardson Chief Operating Officer

After another strong year of growth, AVG continues to bring strong global players to its executive team

AMSTERDAM, September 16, 2010– AVG Technologies, developers of the world’s most popular free anti-virus software, announced today that Clent Richardson has joined the executive leadership team as Chief Operating Officer reporting to the CEO. AVG believes Richardson, who brings more than 30 years of strong experience in all facets of company operations, will effectively round out a strong leadership team that is poised to take the company to the next level.

Richardson joins AVG after serving as a supervisory board member, President and CEO of Immersion Corporation, the world leader in innovation and licensing of force-feedback and haptic technology. Prior to Immersion, Richardson was chief marketing officer of TiVo, pioneer of digital video recording (DVR) solutions. Richardson also served as chief marketing officer of Nortel, as well as supervisory board member, chief sales and marketing officer, and chairman of T Mobile Retail, Ltd, of T Mobile UK. Before joining T Mobile, Richardson spent 4 years as vice president of worldwide developer relations and worldwide solutions marketing at Apple.

Richardson will be based in Prague, Czech Republic, is a graduate of Antioch University in Ohio. He has also successfully completed executive management programs at GTE, Apple and Deutsche Telekom.
