AVG Download Manager's connectivity check failed

If the connectivity test fails, it may be caused by one of the following reasons:

Connection to a proxy server is not configured
If you are connected to the internet through a proxy, please click on the Proxy settings button to specify your proxy information. Then try to download the AVG installation files again.

Connection to AVG server is blocked
In case you are using any Firewall or Content filtering application, please make sure that it is not preventing AVG Download Manager from connecting to Internet. You can temporarily disable such program to verify whether it is affecting AVG Download Manager, or add the application to its exceptions (for more information please contact the developer of your firewall).
If you use AVG Firewall a connection ask dialog will be displayed. In such case please allow the connection.

Your Internet connection is not fully functional
Your Internet connection to AVG servers may stop working in some cases, although standard Internet browsing works correctly. Proceed as follows to rectify such situation:

Windows XP
  • Open menu Start -> (Settings) -> Control Panel
  • Double-click on Network connections
  • Right-click on the connection you are using and select Repair
  • Try to run the connectivity check in AVG Download Manager again.
 
Windows Vista / 7
  • Open menu Start -> (Settings) -> Control Panel.
  • Double-click on Network and Internet -> Network and Sharing Center.
  • Click on Change adapter setting in the left pane.
  • Right-click on the connection you are using and select Disable, then Enable.
  • Try to run the connectivity check in AVG Download Manager again.
 
 

Your Internet settings are not correct
Even if your Internet connection is working correctly, incorrect DNS servers may be filled in, affecting AVG Download Manager application. This can be caused e.g. by some virus that was previously on your computer. Please proceed as follows to rectify such situation:

Note: AVG Download Manager is not suitable for downloading of AVG network and SBS editions installation packages and only the following operating systems are supported:

  • Windows 2000 (SP4 + SRP roll-up)
  • Windows XP (SP2 and higher)
  • Windows Vista (all editions)

It is not possible to download AVG installation files in the AVG Download Manager application

If you try to download AVG installation file and the error message "Problem with the downloading process" is displayed, please click the Retry button to begin the product download process again.
